The Coláiste Chiaráin Parents’ Council Annual Uniform & Book Sale

We need all the books and uniforms that we can get!! Donations of uniforms in good condition and current schoolbooks can be dropped off, during school hours only, up to the 26^th June.

Collection of lost property: Friday 19^th June, 12.30 – 1.30pm only

Parents/Guardians,
The term of our current Board of Management comes to an end on 31 July 2015. The Board of Management has 2 positions for parents of students enrolled in the school. If you are interested in serving as a Board Member you can call to the school to pick up a nomination paper and further information regarding the nomination process. A student variety show will take place on Thursday 7th at 7.30 in the school. Plenty of acts on display so come alone and meet the stars of the future.

Action Zambia.
It has come to our attention that donations are being sought from households in the greater Leixlip area in the name of Action Zambia. No such collect is being organised by the school and parents are advised to contact the Gardai if approached.

HSE Booster Injections.
HSE will return on 8th May for any 1st year students who were absent for booster injection.

Our school community has come through a difficult week. Parents and Guardians can be justifiably proud of the way their daughters and sons looked after each other. In a effort to ease the burden on our community classes will finish at 12.45 on Friday 17th April for all students. Please keep an eye on www.colaistechiarain.com for upcoming events and news.

Marguerite Kiely from Pieta House will address parents on Mental Health Awareness on Tuesday 21st April @ 8pm in the school. A number of volunteers from the Samaritan organisation will also be in attendance on the night.

Colaiste Chiarain will be closed for students on Monday 16th March to facilitate Teachers Continuos Professional Development.

U16 Girl Basketball. The girls represented Colaiste Chiarain once again in the National Basketball Arena. This time they played a hard fought final to be crowned All Ireland A League Champions. Photo in 'News & Views'.

The presentation on social media planned for this evening Monday 23 rd has been cancelled. 

The entire school community were on hand today to welcome back the newly crowned All Ireland Basketball "A" Champions. Well done to all those associated with this magnificient achievement. Check News and Views for photos.

TUI/ASTI Teachers Strike: Due to strike action by the 2 teachers Unions, Colaiste Chiarain will be closed on Thursday 22nd January. The Board of Management is therefore requesting parents not to send their daughters/sons to school on Thursday 22nd January. School will re-open at 08.40 on Friday 23rd January.

Our U16 girls basketball team play in the All Ireland "A" Schools Cup Final on Tues' 20th at 12pm. The match is being streamed live and can be viewed from this link. We wish them every success..

A senior cycle presentation for parents of 3rd students will take place on Wed' 15/1/15 at 7.30 in the school. Application forms for TY and LCA will be distributed on the night.

Well done to the U-16 Girls Basketball who won their All Ireland Semi Final today. They defeated Ard Scoil, Rathangan 50 points to 48.
