Well done to Lauren Delaney & Blathnaid Nicholson of 3rd year who organised a very successful bake sale in aid of Pieta House.  The girls, with the help of their year group, raised €777.09.  Patricia Maloney of Pieta House visited the school and thanked the girls and the students of Coláiste Chiaráin for their wonderful support. view photos

Coláiste Chiaráin Parents' Council is appealing for donations of current school books and uniforms in good condition. We will be at the school on Saturday 22 June between to 10.30 and 12.30 to accept donations.We will be hosting a sale of unclaimed lost property and any donated books and items of uniform in the school on Saturday 29 June between 12 and 2pm.Funds raised from this sale will go towards the School Library Fund.

Students who are sitting exams are invited to attend a special exam mass on Sunday 19th May in the church of Our Lady's Nativity Leixlip followed by refreshments in the parish centre.All students welcome.

Congratulations to our 1st year  Girls Basketball Team who won the Basketball Ireland schools B league. They became All Ireland League winners by beating Presentation Killarney  by 28 to 17. Congratulations to 1st Girls Basketball Team who on Saturday went through their Quarter Finals. The now compete in All Ireland Semi Finals in Limerick in May.
Hard luck to 1st year Boys Basketball team who represented the school at All Ireland Quarter Final stage but did not progress.

Well done to all 1st years who were on trip to Glendalough and participated in History workshop, Geography investigations and Hike. Great weather and a good day had by all.

Congratulations to Conall Hayes who won the All Ireland U16 1500m Indoor Athletics title in Athlone on 24th March. Conall also came 3rd in the 800m.

Adam Connolly 6th year came 2nd in the AILO (Irish Linguistics Olympiad) and will represent Ireland in Manchester in July.

Department of Communications has today informed Colaiste Chiarain that it will be part of the 100Mbit/sec High Speed Schools Network in 2013. This will provide quality access to the Internet using the school network.

We welcome our incoming 1st years to the school on Saturday 2nd February for their entrance test.

Mock Junior and Leaving Cert exams start today. Good luck to all our exam students.

The Gluais group are meeting in the school on Wednesday 23rd January 2013 from 6.30pm to 9.00pm.  The group will be discussing upcoming events for the rest of the school year.  The Gluais group provides support for new incoming first years and they organise events and activities for them throughout the school year.

The Leaving Certificate Physics students will be attending an experimental laboratory session in NUI Maynooth on Tuesday next, 22nd January.  The lab session starts at 10.00am and finishes at 12.00noon. Students will be back in school for afternoon classes.

An Information Evening regarding Senior Options will take place on Tuesday, 15th January in the Assembly Hall at 7.30pm. Application forms for TY and LCA will be available on the night.
