Our Christmas Carol service has become one of the highlights of the school calendar. On Thursday the entire school community made the short journey down to our local church for a service of readings and carols. Unfortunately there is not an opportunity for parents to attend as the church is packed to overflowing. We have however added some clips from the service which can be viewed in our news and views section.

3rd year students will have a presentation on Subject Option for senior cycle as part of our subject information week. Students will have an opportunity to meet teachers from all option groups during this period.

Enrolment 2015: Enrolment for new students beginning 1st year in 2015 is planned for Monday 1st, Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd December. Due to TUI/ASTI industrial action it is not possible to go ahead with enrolment on Tuesday 2nd December. Colaiste Chiarain is extending the enrolment period which is now Monday 1st, Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th December.

TUI/ASTI Teachers Strike: Due to strike action by the 2 teachers Unions, Colaiste Chiarain will be closed on Tuesday 2nd December. The Board of Management is therefore requesting parents not to send their daughters/sons to school on Tuesday 2nd December. School will re-open at 08.40 on Wednesday 3rd December.

The Board of Management has approved the School Self Evaluation Report and the School Improvement Plan for 2014. Parents are invited to read both documents which are located in the policies section of the website.

Leixlip Youth and Community Centre are inviting the community to an event on Saturday 29th November to highlight the wide range of activities they have on offer. More detail can be viewed here

The Parents Association are organising a careers night on Monday 24th November from 7.30 -9.30. Details can viewed here

The Parents Association are hosting a new and used recycling drive from Mon 20th until Thurs 23rd October in support of the school. Details can be found here.

Friday 10th October is Mental Health Green Awareness Day in Colaiste Chiarain. To mark this event we will host a non-uniform day in support of those who have been affected by mental health issues.

Parents Council AGM

The A.G.M. of the Parents Council will be held in Coláiste Chiaráin on Tuesday 7^th October at 8.15 p.m. Details can be viewed here

H.S.E staff will visit the school on Wed' 10th September to administer booster injection to 1st year boys and girls. We are also adding a link to a H.S.E information letter which can be viewed here

An evening of gardening with Jodi Price will take place in the school on Friday 19th September. Details can be found here

Congratulations to 2nd year Boys Basketball Team on becoming All Ireland Champions. A big thanks to Yvonne and Erin Bracken. Thanks also to Ms. NiScannail and Ms. McGuire.

The 5^th Year Parent/Teacher meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday 5^th March. The meeting will take place from 16.00 to 18.30 hrs.
